Functional and security research
The laboratory conducts the functional and security research in the following systems for rail traffic control:
- Substation systems intended for train traffic control and the maneuvering control at the setting station;
- Systems of the line block intended for regulating of train sequence as well as for determining the direction of traffic on the track.
- Systems of remote control and traffic control intended for the remote setting the rail traffic control devices, which are installed at the operating points and operating control points.
- Train control systems intended for monitoring of engine driver vigilance, monitoring of train speed and braking control (some of the devices of these systems are installed on the board of the locomotive and another part is installed at the track).
- Systems of the traffic protection at railway crossings intended for road user warning about approaching rail vehicles.
- Systems ascertaining the unoccupied tracks and turnouts by rolling stock and informing the railway traffic control personnel about issues related to it.
- Systems of power supply of railway control traffic devices.
These researches are carried out according to the accredited LB-2.01 procedure.
During the research, the following parameters are being checked:
- Functional parameters (according to PN-EN 50129:2019-01 chapter 7.2, section 2.3);
- Functional safety parameters (according to PN-EN 50129:2019-01 chapter 7.2, section 3, 4, annex B3);
- Integrity of the software and hardware (according to PN-EN 50128:2011/A2:2021-05 annex A, tab. A6 pos. 1 i 2);
- The system’s response to damages during executing the function or standby (according to PN-EN 50129:2019-01 annex E, tab. E5 pos. 5-8);
- The system’s response to systematic errors during executing a specific function or standby (according to PN-EN 50129:2019-01 annex E, tab. E5 pos. 1);
The laboratory also carries out the qualification tests of the above mentioned systems according to the accredited LB-2.03 procedure, during which determines the qualification parameters for the safety of the functioned in the exploatation conditions (according to PN-EN 50129:2019-01 chapter 5.3.12 and 7.2 section 6) with verification of compliance of RAMS parameters (PN-EN 50126-1:2018-01 annex B)
