Certification with TYPE

Certification “with type” based on technical tests necessary to verify device compliance.

In this variant, the "with type" certification applies to: the contracting entity, modernization contractor, importer, investor, administrator, user of the siding or railway undertaking, who intends to issue a declaration of conformity with the type for devices that intends to put into operation in accordance with art. 22f section 8. point 2 of the Railway Transport Act.
Signal Cert Certifying Body performs certification of devices in accordance with the certification program JCPR-02. The program for control devices certification for the evaluation of conformity with the type, based on technical tests necessary to determine the type in which the following steps are taken:

Step 1 – Laboratory tests

The Signal Cert Certifying Body as an authorization body approved by the President of UTK to perform technical tests necessary to issue a declaration of conformity "with type" by the entit, performs technical tests to determine the conformity of the device "with type" based on appropriate test procedures and standardization documents - they form the basis for evaluating the conformity of the product with the requirements.

Step 2 - evaluation of the device

After conducting technical tests and on the basis of the documentation attached to the application, the Signal Cert Certification Body carries out the evaluation of the product compliance with the requirements contained in the established certification program.
If a given type of device meets the requirements assigned to it in the appropriate technical specifications and normative documents, the device shall obtain a certificate of conformity with the type on the basis of which the contracting entity, modernization contractor, importer, investor, manager, manager or siding user or railway undertaking issues a declaration of conformity with the type.

Certification with type on the basis of selected conformity evaluation modules defined in EU by Decision No. 768/2008 / EC

In this variant, the "with type" certification applies to: the manufacturer or his authorized representative who intends to issue a declaration of conformity with the type for devices whose type has been granted a type approval certificate for use in accordance with Art. 22f section 8. point 1 of the Railway Transport Act.
Signal Cert Certifying Body performs certification of devices in accordance with the Certification Program JCPR-03. Certification program for railway control devices for conformity evaluation with type based on conformity evaluation modules, in which the following steps are taken:

Step 1 - Selection of the conformity evaluation module, laboratory tests

Signal Cert Certifying Body, as an authorization body approved by the President of UTK to carry out technical tests, performs compliance verification "on the manufacturer's request" by carrying out technical tests confirming the conformity of each piece "with type" based on appropriate test procedures and standardization documents.

The Signal Cert company conducts certification based on the following conformity assessment modules (according to EU Decision No. 768/2008 / EC):

• Conformity to type based on internal production control and testing of products under supervision - C1 module,
• Conformity to type based on internal production control and testing of products under supervision at random intervals - module C2,
• Conformity to type based on product verification - module F.

The manufacturer, on the basis of the devices that are produced, determines in the application the conformity evaluation module, according to which our company as an authorized body carries out the certification process.

Compliance evaluation according to module C1 involves carrying out one or more tests of one or more specific aspects of this device.
The conformity evaluation according to module C2 is connected with conducting tests with reference to the sample of final products.
The conformity assessment according to module F requires that every product or sample selected randomly from a batch of products shall be subjected to compliance with the requirements specified in the appropriate certification program.
In order to carry out activities related to statistical evaluation, the product test sample is taken by the Signal Cert Certifying Body in accordance with the requirements of the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard.

Step 2 - Evaluation of the device

After conducting technical tests and on the basis of the documentation attached to the application, Signal Cert Certifying Body carries out the assessment of the product compliance with the requirements contained in the established certification program.
If a type of device meets the requirements assigned to it in the appropriate technical specifications and normative documents, the device shall obtain a certificate of conformity with the type on the basis of which the contracting entity, modernization contractor, importer, investor, manager, manager or siding user or railway undertaking issues a declaration of conformity with the type.
If a type of device meets the requirements assigned to it in the appropriate technical specifications and normative documents, the device with a decision of our company obtains a positive result of certification.

The obtained decision results in:

• issuing a certificate of conformity with the type when using the conformity assessment module F,
• while for C1 and C2 modules, the entity issues a certification decision regarding the maintenance, limitation, suspension or withdrawal of the certification granted.

The certification documents obtained by the manufacturer or his authorized representative form the basis for issuing a declaration of conformity with the type.
